Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to work with Ellie Senior Word Studio. These terms keep things clear, fair and straightforward, so we both know what to expect and can focus on creating impact.

Project Scope and Pricing

How we agree the work

Every project begins with a simple written proposal sent by email or via Xero which outlines exactly what we’ll be doing together. Whether you’re commissioning a package or bespoke consultancy, the proposal forms our working agreement. I’m also happy to work with your contracts or sign NDAs when needed. Proposals remain valid for three months from the date they’re issued.

What’s included

Quoted prices cover our briefing conversations, the strategic thinking and creative development behind the work, the writing and completed content agreed in your proposal, and minor refinements to initial drafts.

If things change

If your brief shifts significantly once we’ve started, I’ll quote separately for the additional work. Whether you want to take a new direction, define a new scope, or commission new materials, this keeps everything transparent and ensures you get exactly what you need.

If you need to cancel

If a project needs to pause or stop, I’ll invoice proportionally for the work completed up to that point

Payment Terms

How payment works

To secure your project slot I take a 50% deposit upfront, with the remaining 50% due on completion. This protects time in my schedule and signals commitment from both sides.

Payment schedules vary by project type:

  • Standard projects: 50% to begin, 50% on completion

  • Training and one-to-one sessions: 100% upfront to secure your session

  • Monthly support: Billed on the 28th of each month

Payment timings

The initial invoice is due within 7 days, with all other payments due within 14 days of invoice date.

Monthly retainers

For ongoing support, eight weeks’ notice from either side gives us time to wrap things up properly or transition smoothly.

Late payments

Unpaid invoices accrue daily interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. I may pause work or restrict access to completed content until accounts are settled.

Content and Copyright

Who owns what

I retain copyright on all work until invoices are paid in full. Once payment is complete, full copyright transfers to you.

Using AI responsibly

I use AI tools thoughtfully, ethically and legally. This means enhancing my work while protecting your interests and maintaining the highest professional standards. In my use of AI, I follow regulation and best practice carefully to protect your copyright, data and privacy.

Revisions and Feedback

What’s included

Fixed-price projects include two rounds of revisions if needed. This covers the natural back-and-forth that creates great content.

Major changes

Substantial shifts like additional pages, changes after sign-off, or editing client-added content will be quoted separately.

Feedback window

I allow seven days to share feedback on drafts. If I don’t hear from you within that time, I’ll assume you’re happy and treat that stage as signed off.

If the work isn’t usable

If you genuinely can’t use the content I’ve created, we may agree to reduce the fee to 50% of the quoted amount. In this case, copyright remains with me and the work cannot be used or adapted.

Portfolio Rights

I reserve the right to showcase your project in my online portfolio and marketing channels, with appropriate credit and links. This will always be done respectfully — great work deserves to be seen!

Any questions?

If anything here feels unclear or you’d like to talk through specific requirements, just let me know. Clear communication makes everything easier, and I’m always happy to help.
