Turning complex data capability into clear, confident messaging for SimSage

SimSage is an Intelligent Information Management platform built on 16 years of research in natural language processing and enterprise search.

With deployments across medical research, local government, finance and technology, this ambitious scale-up helps organisations turn decades of scattered information into strategic intelligence.

THE SCOPE

  • Technical team interviews

  • Market research & competitor analysis

  • Messaging framework

  • Tone of voice development

  • Use-case storytelling

  • Strategic pitch deck copywriting

The brief

SimSage had a powerful technical product and a strong track record, but the messaging wasn’t keeping pace with capability. The team needed a clear, confident way to articulate the value of their platform to decision‑makers who were overwhelmed by data challenges but unfamiliar with the nuances of semantic search, RAG architectures or information governance.

The goal was to create a strategic communication foundation: a value proposition rooted in customer outcomes, a messaging framework the whole team could use, and a pitch deck that positioned SimSage clearly in the market.

The work

UNDERSTANDING THE LANDSCAPE

Through one‑to‑one interviews with the core team, I explored SimSage’s mission, differentiators and customer pain points. This was paired with competitor review to identify gaps in the market and opportunities for clearer positioning. Together, these insights formed the foundation for a messaging approach that spoke directly to the challenges organisations face: dark data, fragmented systems, compliance pressure and unreliable AI outputs.

SHAPING THE MESSAGE

Drawing on the discovery work, I developed a complete messaging framework from value proposition to tone of voice, taglines and narrative structure. Complex technical concepts such as graph‑based semantic search, data visibility and RAG‑enabled AI were translated into accessible, outcome‑led language that resonated with business leaders.

BRINGING THE STORY TO LIFE

To help SimSage demonstrate real‑world impact, I created a suite of use‑case stories based on real-world customer scenarios. These narratives showed how the platform solves high‑stakes problems, with each story making the technology tangible, relatable and commercially relevant.

BUILDING A STRATEGIC PITCH DECK

I wrote and designed a new pitch deck created to support sales conversations and investor discussions. The deck introduced the problem, positioned SimSage’s capabilities, and showcased measurable impact with a narrative structured to move audiences from recognition to confidence to action.

The difference

SimSage now has clear, commercially compelling messaging that aligns the team and helps decision‑makers instantly understand the value of its world‑class technology.

When you're immersed in your own perspective of your company, it can be challenging to convey a complex enterprise product and the customer value proposition in simple terms.

Ellie instantly understood what we needed, and she quickly turned our existing 'word-fest' into a simple, concise story.

Feedback from our team and various stakeholders has been that Ellie's work is 100% on-the-mark. I can't recommend Ellie highly enough...and she is so easy to work with.
